hiring process

We are delighted you are interested in joining Mondelez! Before becoming part of our business, we need to make sure you are the right person for us and equally you will need to make sure we are the right company for you. You will need to pass through a number of different stages as part of our overall hiring process. The process may vary slightly by role, country or entry level, but below is a guide of what you can expect. We are an international business with English as our official business language – as such some stages will take place in English as noted below.

For more information on what to expect from our early careers and experienced hire selection processes, click the titles below.

Early Careers Opportunities

For more information, click on any of the stages below.

stage one: online application

Apply online by completing the application form and uploading your CV. Both the CV and application form will need to be completed in English.

stage two: online situational judgment test (sjt)

If, after reviewing your application and CV, you meet the minimum criteria for the role you will be invited to complete an online SJT in English. Here, we want to present you with realistic, hypothetical scenarios and ask you to identify the most appropriate response (and least appropriate). We use your SJT to understand how well you are likely to perform in an Early Career role at Mondelēz International. If English is not your native language this stage will also help us to assess your understanding of the English language. You would need around 30-35 minutes to complete this stage.

stage three: video or telephone interview

Complete a video or telephone interview with one of our early career assessors – you will be sent instruction beforehand to ensure you have the necessary software. This will give us a chance to chat about your application, learn more about you and better understand your skills, experiences and competencies. This stage will be held either entirely in English or a mixture of English and your native language. As English is our international business language, we must ensure you have an adequate level of English to work with us. You will need around 30-40 minutes to complete this stage.

stage four: (graduate program roles only): online tests

Complete online tests. This will allow us to assess your numerical and/or inductive reasoning skills. You can select which language to complete the test in.

Stages one to four of the hiring process can take up to 3 weeks.

stage five: final assessment or assessment center

If you get past our screening stages above, you will be invited to a final assessment. This will either be held remotely over video or at one of our Mondelēz International sites. For some roles we may decide to run a face-to-face assessment centre. In all cases, you should expect a competency based interview and an individual presentation. In some cases you may also be asked to take part in a group exercise as part of an assessment centre.

Once you've completed the process, we'll carefully consider how well you've done and aim to give you a decision within a few days following the final stage.

A member of our Early Careers Talent Acquisition Team will confirm the exact format of final stage for the role you have applied for during stage four.

frequently asked questions

Do you have questions about our opportunities? Check out answers to some of our frequently asked questions by clicking the titles below.

early careers opportunities

Q. Do you accept applications from candidates from any degree discipline?

A. We consider candidates from a range of degree disciplines. Certain business areas, however, may have specific requirements. For example, if you're interested in an Engineering Internship or Graduate program, you must have (or be studying towards) a degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. Such requirements will be clearly outlined in the job description.

Q. Can I apply for an internship even though I have already graduated?

A. You can. But please be aware that the program is fixed-term and not a permanent role within the company.

Q. If I graduated more than a year ago, can I still apply for the graduate program?

A. You can – but depending on your work experience, you may be offered a different entry point into the company. Our graduate programs are not suitable for people who have completed a formal graduate program with another employer. So if you have already completed a graduate program before, we would not be able to accept your application.

Q. How can I prepare for the online tests?

A. One of the best ways is to attempt the practice questions we’ve provided. They’ll familiarize you with the content and format of the tests.

Q. Can I get feedback after each stage of the application process?

A. Due to the large number of applications, we are only able to offer feedback after the assessment center.

Q. What can I expect during the assessment center?

A. During the assessment center you’ll meet people from our business and be given an overview of the company. Assessments can include a group activity, a presentation, a role-play exercise and an interview with somebody from the function you have applied to. You’ll have opportunities throughout the day to ask questions about our early career programs and what it’s like to work for us. You’ll also have the chance to meet some of the people currently on those programs. Ultimately, it’s as much a chance for you to get to know us, as it is for us to get to know you!

Q. How should I prepare for the assessment center?

A. Our assessment centers use a variety of exercises to give you the best opportunity to demonstrate your skills and experience. To make sure you’re prepared, we’d recommend reading a book on assessment centers. There are many good ones out there and they can tell you what to expect.

Q. How long does each early career graduate program last?

A. The length of our early career graduate programs is usually three years but this may vary according to the type of program and the country it’s offered in. Please refer the specific job details for more information.

Q. What should I expect from the 'on demand' video interview?

A. If you are invited to complete an 'on demand' video interview, you will be asked a series of questions and you will have the opportunity to re-record your answers until you are happy for them to be submitted. You will also be provided with detailed instructions and a helpful summary of tips and best practices for completing the interview.

Q. Do you sponsor non-EEA candidates?

A. We welcome applications from all candidates regardless of nationality. We select candidates based on the required criteria for each role, including education, skills, experience and other factors. All candidates, however, must have permission to work in the EU by the start of their employment. Each application will be reviewed against current EU guidelines.

Q. Where do I find the requirements for the job I’m applying for?

A. Please check the online job posting for the role you’re considering. This will include all requirements for the role.

A. We try to review all applications within two days of receiving your details. It can then take one to three weeks before we decide whether to invite you to an interview or assessment center.

Q. Can I submit my CV without applying for a specific position?

A. To join, you need to apply for a specific role or program. If, when reviewing your application, we think you’d be better suited for another role or program, we’ll let you know. You can also set up your profile to receive job alerts for any future roles you might be interested in.

Q. Should I include a cover letter with my application?

A. You don’t have to, but it’s probably a good idea. A well-written cover letter can sometimes make the difference between getting an interview and not. It also allows you to get across your personality in a way that your CV and application can’t.

Q. How should I prepare for the interview?

A. There are a few things you can do. For starters, learn as much as you can about Mondelēz International and the role you’re applying for. Then think about your experience and achievements, and why you’d be a good match for our business. The more specific you can be the better. Finally, make sure you’re relaxed. That way you can be yourself and have the best chance of making a good impression.

Q. Do you pay interview expenses?

A. It depends on what position you’re applying for and the country in which you’d like to work. Please see the job description or speak to the recruiter once you’ve been invited to an interview.

Q. How long will it take to hear from you after the interview?

A. Once you’ve had your interview, we’ll try to get back to you within a week to let you know the outcome.

Q. If I’m unsuccessful, can I reapply?

A. Absolutely. You can reapply and we will consider your application on its own merits, taking into account why you were unsuccessful the first time. Please note, however, that you will need to wait six months before reapplying for the same role.

Q. Can I be notified about new positions?

A. Depending on your location and area of interest, we can let you know when new vacancies arise. To receive job alerts for any future roles you might be interested in, log into your online profile and update accordingly.

Q. How do I update my profile?

A. You can update your profile at any time by logging on to the system and clicking ‘edit my profile’.

Q. Will there be scope for me to develop my career internationally?

A. One of the best things about working for a global company is the opportunity to work internationally. If you establish yourself within the business and prove you’ve got what it takes to succeed, we’ll be more than happy for you to bring your talents to any of our offices around the world, provided the right opportunity comes up.

be careful

We’ve been told about an online recruitment fraud involving fake Mondelēz International job postings. These postings impersonate our company and employees in an attempt to wrongfully gather personal data and money from candidates.

We take this matter very seriously and are doing everything we can to put an end to it. Just in case, please watch out for:

  • Emails that originate from a non @mdlz.com address. All our employees, including our recruitment teams, use email addresses that end in @mdlz.com.
  • Job postings or emails with poor spelling and grammar.
  • A job offer when no face-to-face interview has taken place. As part of our recruitment process, we almost always meet candidates in person, at least once.
  • Early requests for extensive personal information such as passport and bank account details. We would only request passport information at the in-person interview stage and bank account details once you’ve accepted a job offer and started the onboarding process.
  • Offers of employment in international locations – often with requests for "visa processing fees". We would never ask for money from candidates as part of our recruitment process.

Should anyone make an unsolicited or suspicious offer of employment on behalf of Mondelēz International, please contact your local police department.
