Stepping outside my comfort zone
I am currently a Country Fulfilment Assistant, which means making sure that our products will be available at our warehouses in order to deliver our clients. In summary, I ensure the delivery of the right product, in the right place, in the right quantity, and in the right quality to the right client!
The first few days were challenging. My native language is Spanish, so communicating and solving real supply chain problems in a second language was difficult! I also wanted to learn as much as I could from all my different colleagues in order to be operational and assume my responsibilities as soon as possible. A lot of perseverance and hard work meant that I got there!
I’ve really noticed that everyone is willing to help, and explain things when you don’t understand something. For me at the beginning was a bit challenging, but my team was always available when I had questions, took the time to explain to me when I didn’t understand, etc. It has been also because of my team and my colleagues that my French has improved, as well as my confidence for solving any constraints in my working environment and my leadership skills have definitely improved!
