Audrey Coatmelec - Team Leader, La Haie-Fouassière

My Mondelēz International Experiences so far…

I was first attracted to Mondelēz International because I love its products and brands – like Milka, LU and Cote d’Or. For me it’s really important to love what you make to enjoy a job working on a production line.

I joined Mondelēz International as a Continuous Improvement trainee in the Paille d’Or plant. Before my arrival, I received a full schedule for the week, well prepared by my supervisor. Then on the first day I received training about safety and hygiene before spending time on the production line to meet the team and start learning the processes. I also had meetings with people from different functions, including process experts, a Continuous Improvement coach…The goal was to understand their tasks and roles and how they would be able to help me for my project.

After only 4 months in that role, my supervisor offered me a Team Leader position. I was really grateful that she trusted me enough to give me more responsibilities. I knew that in this role, I would develop my technical skills and my competences. That's how, at the end of my internship, I received an offer for a team leader contract.

In my role now, I supervise a team of ten people. This means developing the team, clearly communicating plans to the team members and listening to their feedback, as well as building a great team environment while ensuring compliance with manufacturing procedures in terms of safety and hygiene. In order to achieve this, I lead a daily meeting to analyse performance across a number of key indicators, including safety, quality, delivery, cost and morale. This allows us to define the daily priorities, objectives and actions. I also work on projects which allow us to identify areas for improvement, root causes, and implement changes.

Sofiane Khentiche - Project Maintenance manager, Château-Thierry

The reason I applied for an internship with Mondelēz International? The career opportunities, and the delicious biscuits and chocolate, of course! After I saw the advert on the Mondelēz International website, I quickly applied, and then was invited to a telephone interview with HR. After this, I was invited to the factory for a final interview, and received a job offer the same day! All the paperwork was sent to me online, so it was really easy.

My first few days…

I was looking forward to my first day to get to know the company better. I made the most of the first few days to familiarise myself with the company’s values and ways of working, I introduced myself to the wider team, and asked questions to collect all the information I needed.

Aside from the compulsory safety and quality training, most of my learning has been done by contact with colleagues. We are always challenged to develop and to challenge ourselves. I found it easy to settle in, thanks to the good working atmosphere. All of the team, including the managers, made me feel really comfortable.

Advice to other candidates

We do not know everything, we learn every day! Challenges are really good as they make us better – so don’t be afraid of a challenge. Ask colleagues for support and advice when you need it, as this will help you succeed in your projects. Mondelēz International knows how to reward efforts – and I was really pleased to have my contact extended at the end of my internship.
