Doing the right thing

In 2014, we launched Shubh Aarambh as our umbrella corporate social responsibility and community program in India. Shubh Aarambh means ‘an auspicious beginning’ and focuses on the integrated development of children to foster nutrition/health education, address social issues impacting young people, enhance gender equality and support young people to become better citizens. Shubh Aarambh is activated around the company’s manufacturing sites operations in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Cocoa Life is a program created by Mondelēz International and our partners to transform the lives and livelihoods of cocoa farmers and their communities, and to inspire the next generation. Cocoa Life reaches out to 100,000 farmers in four states in South India. The program is helping coconut farmers to plant cocoa as an intercrop in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. In addition, the program reaches out to farmers in Kerala where cocoa is grown as a mixed crop.

Mondelēz India has won a string of industry awards over the years. Here are just some from 2016:

• Agency Reckoner 2015-2016 made Mondelēz India ‘the most admired marketer.’
• We won two Silvers at Exchange for Media Primetime Awards:
  • Best Creative Advertising (Single Ad or Campaign, Foods and Beverages) for Play with Oreo – Face Race
  • Best Creative Advertising (Single Ad or Campaign, Foods and Beverages) for Oreo Sweet, Crunchy, Chocolatey.
